Fynnja is a female name.
Fynnja is a form of Finja and a female counterpart to the male Nordic name Finn, but also a Russian form of Rufina. Some people think, that the name is of Celtic origin or derived from the Greek name Phineas.
Fynnja means “the blonde”, “the bright”, “the white” (Irish). On the contrary, it can also mean “dark”, “brown” (from the Greek name “Phineas”). Fynnja also means “the red one” (from Rufus). As a Nordic form it gets the meaning “the Finnish” or “members of the Finnish people”.
